Galarux Gantt User Guide

Galarux Gantt is an advanced extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that enables visual project planning through Gantt charts. This tool is designed to integrate seamlessly with the standard Business Central Projects module.

💡 Tip: Galarux Gantt is compatible with all Business Central versions from 2023 wave 2 onwards.

Installation

Installing Galarux Gantt is a simple process that is done from AppSource.

Installation from AppSource

1. Access Microsoft AppSource from your Business Central environment
2. Search for "Galarux Gantt" in the marketplace
3. Click "Get now" and follow the instructions
4. The extension will be installed automatically in your environment

Initial configuration

Once the extension is installed from AppSource, initial configuration is required for users to access Galarux Gantt.

License assignment

As a premium AppSource application, the tenant administrator must assign the acquired licenses to users who will use Galarux Gantt.

💡 Tip: The same administrator who manages Business Central licenses can easily assign Galarux Gantt licenses.

Assignment process

1. Access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
2. Go to "Licenses" in the navigation panel
3. Search for "Galarux Gantt" in the products list
4. Select users who need access
5. Assign the corresponding licenses

⚠️ Important: Users without assigned licenses will not be able to access Galarux Gantt. We recommend assigning licenses before users start working with the extension.

Parameters

Configure the basic parameters of Galarux Gantt according to your needs:

Language selection: English/Spanish

View diagrams

Galarux Gantt allows you to view Business Central projects in Gantt chart format automatically. Each project task is displayed as a bar in the chart, where the start date corresponds to the earliest date of the task's planning lines and the end date to the latest.

Access the Gantt chart

You can access the Gantt chart in two ways:

From the project list, select the project and click Actions > Gantt
From the project card, click Gantt

🚀 Pro Version (Coming Soon): View project lines for each task and assign specific start and end dates to each line (exclusive functionality not available in standard Business Central). Includes integration with custom developments.

Manage tasks

Tasks are automatically generated from Business Central and updated in real time. All modifications require a Pro license.

Export

Export of the chart to a PNG image file is allowed. It exports exactly the information displayed on screen.

1. Chart does not load

Symptoms: The page remains blank or shows an error.
Solution:

Verify you have permissions to access Galarux Gantt
Clear browser cache
Restart Business Central session

No, Galarux Gantt requires the Business Central Projects module to function correctly, as it integrates directly with this functionality. If you have other needs or improvement suggestions, we encourage you to communicate them for evaluation in future versions.

The number of simultaneous users depends on the number of Galarux Gantt licenses obtained. Each license is valid for one user and its assignment is managed from the Admin Center.

Currently only PNG format export is allowed. If you have other export needs, we encourage you to communicate them for evaluation in future versions.
